Caravan QR Tag Australia — Recover stolen plates & lost gear
A small QR sticker for your caravan that lets anyone reach you if a plate is pinched, gear is left behind, or something falls off on the highway — without sharing your mobile or home address. Built for Australian caravan and RV owners. Premium covers the van plus 4 extras.
Frequently asked questions
Why a QR sticker instead of writing my mobile on the van?
Writing your phone number on the side of a caravan means every passer-by at every park can read it — and so can anyone walking through the carpark at a Bunnings on the way home. Kindtact gives finders a contact form instead. Your name, mobile, and home address are never shown.
Will the sticker survive Australian sun, dust, and outback roads?
We recommend a small laminated vinyl sticker (around 25–30mm) on the rear corner of the van, inside the door, or on the A-frame. The QR only needs to be readable by a phone camera — not pristine. Most owners get years out of one even on a van that lives off-road.
What if I'm out of mobile range when someone scans it?
Messages sit in your Kindtact dashboard until you next have signal or wifi. You'll also get an email notification. Pop into the next servo or town and you'll see every scan and message at once.
Can I tag the van plus the bikes, chairs, generator, and tools?
Yes — that's exactly what Premium is for. Tag the van and up to four extra items (e-bike, generator, kayak, recovery kit) under one dashboard. Each QR tells you what was scanned, so you know whether it's the van itself or your camp chair turning up.
Does it replace insurance, my caravan registration, or DataDot?
No — keep all of those. A Kindtact QR is a faster, lower-friction first contact channel. Insurance and DataDot are slow paths that involve police, claims, and forensics. A QR sticker is the quick way for an honest passer-by to reach you in seconds.
Will it work on caravan parks' busy weekends or remote stops?
Yes. The finder doesn't need an app — just a phone camera and any mobile signal at all. Even in remote areas, most travellers and station staff have a small slice of signal somewhere nearby and can fire off a quick message.
Can I cancel or disable a QR if I sell the caravan?
Yes. From your dashboard you can disable any QR instantly. The next person who scans it will see a friendly 'this tag is no longer active' message instead of your inbox. Reprint a fresh one for the new van and you're back in business.
Does Kindtact work for grey nomads and travellers in Australia?
Yes — and it's built with you in mind. The QR works anywhere with mobile data. Stickers can be printed at any town with a print shop. The language and examples on this page are written for Australian caravan and RV owners. Plans are billed in USD.
