Data Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data from Kindtact at any time. This page explains your options, what gets deleted, and how Facebook/Meta users can trigger automated deletion.

Option 1 — Self-service deletion (instant)
Sign in to your Kindtact account and use the self-service deletion form. Your personal data will be anonymised immediately and you will receive a confirmation code.
Option 2 — Email request
Send an email to hello@kindtact.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request". Please include the email address on your account, how you signed in (email, Google, Apple, or Facebook), and any other details to help us identify your account. We will respond within 30 days.
What gets deleted
What is anonymised immediately: your name, email address, and phone number; finder sender details from all received messages (sender name, contact info, IP address, device fingerprint); location data from finder messages; your account profile, personalisation settings, auto-reply template, and logo; QR code labels and custom notes.
Message text and image attachments are not removed during the immediate anonymisation step. They remain attached to de-identified message rows and are purged automatically by Kindtact's retention policy — within 30 days, or 7 days after a thread is marked resolved, whichever comes first.
What we retain after deletion
Some data must be kept for legal, security, or accounting reasons after account deletion. It is fully de-identified:
- Billing records — retained for up to 7 years for tax and accounting compliance.
- QR code scan history counts — aggregate numbers only, no personal data.
- Security logs — IP addresses retained for up to 90 days for abuse prevention.
- Deletion request record — confirmation code and status only, no personal data.
Facebook / Meta login users
If you signed in using Facebook, you can trigger deletion from Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites → Kindtact → Remove → Delete activity. Meta will send an automated request to our callback endpoint:
