Equipment instructions QR code — scan for how to use it

A QR tag that shows a short how-to-use note the moment it's scanned — start-up steps, a safety reminder, a quick tip — with a private way to message you if someone's still stuck. For hire gear, gym and clinic machines, shared office equipment and tools. No app, works on every phone.

Frequently asked questions

How much can the note actually say?

Enough for a short, useful how-to — a few lines of start-up steps, a safety reminder, or a quick tip people keep needing. It's a note shown on scan, not a hosted manual: there's no multi-page document, PDF, diagram, or video behind it. Most "how do I start it" questions fit in a few lines, and for anything longer the message line lets people ask you directly.

Does the person need an app to read the note?

No. Any smartphone camera scans the QR and opens your note in the browser — no download, no sign-up. The lower the friction, the more likely someone reads the note instead of guessing or forcing the gear.

Can they message us if they're still stuck?

Yes — that's the second half of the tag. If your note doesn't answer it, they tap through and send a private question that lands in your business inbox within seconds. You reply through the relay, so they get help without your staff number ever being on display.

Can each unit have its own note?

Yes. Each QR is independent, so the floor sander, the reformer, and the autoclave can each carry their own start-up note — and any question that comes in is already tagged to the right machine, so you're not guessing which one they mean.

Can we change the note after the tags are printed?

Any time, from your dashboard — the QR is just a link, so updating the wording, adding a seasonal step, or fixing a line that keeps tripping people up takes effect on the next scan. The sticker on the gear never has to change.

Is this a replacement for the manual or proper training?

No, and we wouldn't pitch it as one. It's a quick prompt at the point of use — start-up steps, a reminder, a "message us" line — that sits alongside your real manual, induction, and safety signage. For anything that needs formal instruction or a full manual, keep using those; the QR is there to catch the everyday "which button first?" moment.

Where do the messages land, and who sees them?

In one business inbox you nominate — the office, the yard, or a shared team inbox — with an email and dashboard alert within seconds. You can reassign who receives them as staff change, and the person asking never sees a name or number unless someone chooses to share one.

How much does an instructions QR cost?

The account is free to start — up to 25 QRs and 5,000 messages a month — with paid Pro and Business tiers for larger hire fleets, multi-site facilities, team inboxes, and more QRs. You only pay for any printed or durable stickers on top. Sticker packs are available now from the buy page; for Business plan pricing, contact sales@kindtact.com.
