Can I change the note when the gear is out on hire?

Yes. The Custom note is one of the things you can edit after the sticker is printed, so you can swap “Available, message me to book” for “Out until Sunday” from your dashboard whenever it changes. The next person to scan sees the new wording.

What does the person scanning see?

They see your Custom note under “Message from the owner” and a Send a message button that opens a short contact form. Anything beyond that, such as your mobile number, is only shown if you choose to share it.

Does Kindtact take bookings or payments?

No. Kindtact only passes messages between the person who scans and you. Bookings, payments, deposits and insurance are for you and the other person to arrange directly.

Can I stop messages when it isn't for hire?

Yes, two ways. You can change the Custom note to say it isn't available right now. Or you can archive that QR: anyone who scans it then sees a friendly “no longer active” page instead of the contact form, and you can unarchive it when the gear is back on offer.

Do I need a different sticker for each item?

It's better if you do. Each QR has its own Custom note, so a sticker per item lets the note describe that item. Give each one a label in your dashboard and you'll always know which item a message is about.

Does the person scanning need an app?

No. They scan with their phone camera and send a message from the page that opens.
