QR your Car with Kindtact

A small QR sticker on your windscreen lets anyone reach you about your car — without ever seeing your phone number.

Frequently asked questions

What does it mean to 'QR your car'?

It means putting a small QR-code sticker on the inside of your windscreen so anyone who needs to reach you about your car can scan it with their phone camera and send you a private message. Your name, mobile, and address never appear on the sticker — only a friendly prompt to scan.

Why use a QR code for a car instead of just leaving a phone number?

A visible phone number on your windscreen invites scam calls, courier-text phishing, and — for women in particular — unwanted contact from strangers. A QR code keeps the channel open for genuine reasons (blocked in, lights on, minor bump) but hides your number behind a one-way contact form.

How long does it take to set up?

About a minute. Order a sticker, peel it onto the inside of your windscreen when it arrives, scan it once with your own phone to link it to your contact preferences, and you're done. People who later scan it don't need an account, an app, or anything beyond their phone camera.

Will scanners need to download an app?

No. The QR opens a normal web page that anyone can use straight from the camera app. You're the only one who needs an account, and only so you can choose how you'd like to be contacted (push notification, email, SMS, or any combination).

What if I sell the car?

Transfer the QR to the new owner from your dashboard, or deactivate it. Anyone who scans a deactivated sticker just sees a polite 'this tag is no longer active' message — your old contact details are never exposed, even by accident.

Does it work overseas or in poor signal areas?

The scan resolves through any mobile data or wifi connection, so it works anywhere a phone has signal. In genuine no-signal pockets (deep underground carparks, remote bush), the scanner sees a cached page and is told to try again when they have signal.

What about the sticker peeling, fading, or being tampered with?

Kindtact stickers are laminated and UV-rated for the inside of a windscreen — they handle Australian summer heat and direct sun. If anyone peels or defaces the sticker, you can issue a replacement from your dashboard and disable the old code so it can't be misused.

Is this just for cars, or does it work for utes, vans, motorbikes, and caravans?

It works on anything with a windscreen, fairing, or flat surface large enough for a credit-card-sized sticker. There are dedicated landing pages for caravans and bikes if those fit you better, but a single QR design works for every kind of vehicle.

Won't people just call a tow truck instead?

A clear, friendly QR sticker invites a quick message first. Most people would rather send a 10-second note than escalate.

Will it look ugly on my car?

A small sticker on the rear corner of your windscreen is enough to scan and easy to ignore.
