Will a sticker really stay on a water bottle through dishwashing and condensation?

A small laminated vinyl sticker, applied to a clean dry surface and left for 24 hours before its first wash, holds up well on most bottles. Top-rack dishwasher cycles are usually fine. For bottles that get hand-washed inside and rinsed outside, almost any waterproof sticker will last for years.

How small can the QR be and still work?

Around 2 cm (just under an inch) on a side is the sweet spot for water bottles. That's small enough to fit on the base of even a slim bottle, and large enough that a phone camera can scan it from arm's length in normal light.

Where should I put the QR on a curved bottle?

The flat base is the most reliable spot — phones can scan it easily when the bottle is set down. A flat panel on the side or the top of the lid also works. Avoid sharp curves and screw threads, where the sticker edges can lift over time.

What about kids' bottles that get thrown around?

Same approach: small laminated sticker on the base or lid. If you're worried about a child picking at the edges, ask a local sticker printer for a 'doming' or epoxy-resin finish — the QR sits under a thick clear dome that's almost impossible to peel off without tools.

Does the finder see my child's name, my phone, or my address?

Never. Whoever scans your bottle's QR only sees a short message form. Your name, phone number, address, and email are never displayed. You decide whether to reply through Kindtact's private relay.

Can I use one QR for the whole family's bottles?

Yes — point every sticker at the same QR if you want every bottle to reach the same inbox. Or use one QR per bottle with a custom note like "Mia's pink Hydro Flask" or "Dad's black 1-litre" so you know which one was found.

Does it work outside Australia?

Yes. Kindtact works anywhere with mobile data. The QR is just a link — any phone camera in the world can scan it, no app or sign-up needed for the finder. Plans are billed in USD.

What if the bottle is gone for good?

Open your dashboard and disable that QR instantly. Anyone scanning it after that point sees a 'this tag is no longer active' message, and you can pair a new sticker to a replacement bottle in under a minute.
